More and more clients were coming to us and asking us about adding social media aspects to their site, should we use twitter, what is twitter, how can it help us? We at smudge were a bit sceptical about how using twitter could be of benefit. It was a fear of the unknown, like stumble upon, we initially felt that it might be a nice way to get inspiration, an insight into what’s happening in the design scene and yes, even to see what the competition is up to. So we signed up ourselves as @smudgedesign and got stuck in to see what all the fuss was all about.

Looking back now im a bit embarassed about those first few tweets, the fumbling around and the countless twitter faux-pas’ i committed, like looking back on one of my first few web design projects, it was cringeworthy stuff… however we did see a post from michele in blacknight solutions which caught our eye. Blacknight were looking for someone to create a newsletter template for them. Fantastic! this is right up our alley..! We host with blacknight and constantly recommend them to anyone looking for hosting or domains. So we pitched and got awarded the project of designing their newsletter.
